Hello and welcome to Manitoulin Island, the largest freshwater lake island in the world.  Opportunities to swim, boat, hike, cycle, golf, hunt, fish, horseback ride and more abound.  In addition, there are numerous cultural activities, including Pow Wows, museums, art galleries and studios scattered around the unique island communities.

My name is Sarah Warburton and I am the Site Administrative Coordinator (SAC) for Manitoulin Island and as such a Community support for all student learners here.  Dr. Anne McDonald as the Site Liaison Clinician (SLC) is the Academic support for all learners.  Manitoulin has been our home for many years now and we are very happy that you have selected us for one of your learning opportunities.  On our About Manitoulin page, you will find helpful links so you can discover more about our beautiful island, including a digital subscription to The Manitoulin Expositor (our local newspaper), maps, activities both physical and cultural, and restaurants.  The recreation section on each of our clinic pages also provides helpful information.  Please share your personal interests with me directly so I can point you in the right direction for information and contacts.  Also, be sure to check out the For Preceptors page on this website to learn about local educational events, as well as the Preceptor Resources page for useful information about rotations.
